Chris Madden Wins Tuesday's XR Super Series Fever Heat 100 Late Model Main Event & The $20,000 Check

STUART, Iowa (July 12, 2022) – Chris Madden slid by Bobby Pierce and went on to win his series-leading fifth XR Super Series feature, taking the $20,000 Fever Heat 100 Late Model Main Event on Tuesday night.

After an absolutely tremendous battle with Pierce, Jimmy Owens and Jonathan Davenport, Madden made his way to the front with 23 laps to go in the 50-lap main at Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway, jumping low on Pierce in lapped traffic and locking down the top spot when all the leaders began to hunt the bottom.

Madden led the rest of the way and collected the trophy and the big check. Pierce, who started on the outside pole, had stalked pole sitter Jimmy Owens for the first 15 laps before snagging the lead. Pierce would briefly hold the top spot as Madden maneuvered in and around Davenport and Owens.

Throughout the middle part of the race, Stuart’s surface was tremendous, providing a top, middle and bottom that showcased exactly what the quarter-mile bullring is known for: tough, close racing. The four leaders sliced and diced before Madden came out on top.

Madden’s five XR Super Series wins (Bristol twice, Charlotte twice, Stuart) are tops in the series’ inaugural 2022 campaign. Davenport’s three (All-Tech, Belleville ½-mile, Stuart) triumphs are second, while Chris Ferguson (Bristol), Dale McDowell (Bristol), Tim McCreadie (All-Tech), Kyle Larson (Charlotte) and Shane Clanton (Belleville ¼-mile) are also XRSS winners this year.
