Karen Stoffer, Greg Anderson, Robert Hight & Mike Salinas Lead Fields Into NHRA Finals In Pomona

Karen Stoffer made sure this weekends top qualifier yellow hat club in Pomona wasn't just another "boys club" when she bested Matt Smith to take the top spot for Sunday's Pro Stock Motorcycle finale.

While Greg Anderson was the only championship eligible driver to grab a top spot, Sunday looks to have plenty of action from the start.

Steve Torrence, Ron Capps, Greg Anderson and Matt Smith all control their own destiny by heading into the final event of the season with the points lead.

Torrence who may have the easiest path of the 4, only needs to win in round 1 to capture his 4th straight Top Fuel championship. Capps can eliminate Pedregon with a round 1 win but Matt Hagan will still have a small opportunity if they both win in round 1 but then Capps loses in the second round.

The Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle championships are much closer and may not be decided until the last race is ran. Both Greg Anderson and Erica Enders control their own destinies with a possible matchup in the semifinals to decide it all.

Matt Smith, Steve Johnson and Angelle Sampey are still in the hunt on the bikes but Smith has a decent lead heading into Sunday. If Sampey wins the race, she would also win her third title. Johnson would need to win two more rounds than Smith and one more round than Sampey in order to claim his first championship.

Sundays action begins at 2 PM EST on FS1 with a taped recap of qualifying with eliminations beginning at 4 PM EST, also on FS1.
