Robert Hight piloted his John Force Racing Funny Car to the top of the ladder with a run of 3.894 at 330.55. He was one of seven drivers who had sub 4 second runs on Friday.

Greg Anderson and his KB Motorsports HendrickCars.com Camaro ran a 6.566 at 210.21 MPH to take the top stop and to extend his points lead over Erica Enders. Anderson came into the event with a 32 point cushion.
Matt Smith rode his Denso Buell to a 6.779 at 201.19 MPH to lead the Pro Stock Motorcycle field after the first day of qualifying. With Smith Battling Steve Johnson and Angelle Sampey for the championship, it was vital to get a good start and some extra bonus points.
Action continues on Saturday with 2 additional rounds of qualifying for Sunday's final event of the season.
